I had a very disappointing experience with Cavender Buick GMC while attempting to purchase a 2016 Yukon XL Denali.
After confirming the vehicle was available, I placed a deposit, completed financing paperwork, arranged a third-party inspection, and drove approximately an hour to the dealership. Upon arrival, I was informed that another customer's hold on the vehicle had not actually expired and that the vehicle was still being sold to them.
Unfortunately, making this trip caused me to miss my son's graduation ceremony, which is something I cannot get back.
While my deposit was refunded, Sales Manager Miguel told me he would help locate a comparable vehicle and follow up with me in writing. Despite waiting more than a month, I never received the promised email, any vehicle leads, or meaningful follow-up communication.
After escalating my concerns, General Sales Manager Santiago Sanchez responded, apologized for the situation, and stated in writing that Cavender would continue searching for a replacement vehicle and work with me on pricing. Despite those assurances, I never received any vehicle leads or further follow-up from the dealership.
Mistakes happen, but allowing a customer to place a deposit, complete financing, coordinate an inspection, and travel to the dealership before discovering the vehicle was unavailable was extremely frustrating. The lack of follow-through afterward made the experience even worse.
I hope Cavender improves its inventory management, communication, and customer follow-through so future customers do not experience the same situation.
